The Columbus Moving Image Art Review

The Columbus Moving Image Art Review (CMIAR) will host its first of many quarterly local moving image screening events on November 13, 2009 from 8pm to 10pm at Wildgoose Creative 2491 Summit Street Columbus, Ohio 43202 . CMIAR is a screening event for local Columbus Ohio artists. CMIAR was developed by two local moving image artists who wanted to create a way for the seventh art of film to return to a more appropriate presentation medium of the cinema house as opposed to being featured as an exhibit or installation in a gallery. The goal of CMIAR is to provide a quarterly screening event comprised of works from local Columbus, Ohio artists working in the seventh art of the moving image. The screening event will be programmed with moving image work obtained through submissions from local artist.

CMIAR's first screening event includes eleven films from a diverse group of local moving image artist, film makers, software artist and animators and university students. The individual works cover a range of topics including traumatic loss, gender representation, structural ideas of moving image technology, spirituality in Columbus, and even Ohio State University football.
