Remote Sensing by Nicole Gibbs

Presented by Ohio Art League
1/2/2010 - 1/27/2010
Remote Sensing is a collection of Nicole's recent works of multi-media drawings that employ the cool, impervious perspective of satellites to investigate control, communication, and chaos in one dear and difficult relationship. In these drawings, there are implications of command and precision alongside leakage and devastation. Geometric symbols referencing communication, strategy, and observation populate these images. Long-lasting mylar and paint are layered with decaying newsprint and clay as metaphors for cleaning up messes, mitigating damages, and distancing oneself from future catastrophes.

Opening Reception: January 2, 2010, 6 - 8 p.m.
