A Day of Arts for All
Presented by VSA Ohio
VSA proudly presents the 5th annual A Day of Arts for All to be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Westerville Community Center.
A Day of Arts for All provides opportunities for participants of all ability levels to express their creativity, recognizes and honors the talents of Ohio's artists with disabilities, facilitates intergenerational relationships, and advances creative careers. This family-friendly day includes several exciting components.
- The 17th annual opening ceremony for the statewide, juried Accessible Expressions Ohio Exhibit & Tour featuring 88 pieces of art by artists of all ages and abilities from across Ohio. All artists receive a certificate and awards are presented in Youth, Emerging, and Professional categories. as well as Best in Show and People's Choice. This is the only time the AEO tour will be displayed in full, beginning April 1 the exhibit will divide into groups and tour across Ohio and raise awareness in inclusive settings. Artwork is for sale.
- Performances by the 2012 Young Soloist winners, three extraordinary musicians under the age of 25 with a disability.
- A professional development workshop for artists and service providers providing training on How to Develop an Online Presence, led by Patty Mitchell.
- Balloon sculpture making with Robert Lockheed.
- Previews of the new www.vsao.org and films from the November 2012 ReelAbilities - Columbus disability film festival
A Day of Arts for All is a free and fully accessible event sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council, Westerville Community Center, and the generosity of individuals throughout Ohio. Refeshments and snacks are provided and all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
