Green on the Green - May 19th 2012 - Saturday 9am-2pm
Presented by Big Green Head
Green on the Green is a free, one day, community festival providing visitors with a sampling of ways to "go green" including opportunities to buy re-purposed or recycled items, learning to appreciate native plants and animals, and educating folks on how to use less energy, produce less waste or adopt sustainable practices.
Our objective is to demonstrate that being a steward of the community and environment can be fun, interesting and even cost effective. Here's what you will find at Green on the Green:
Local organizations and businesses showcasing programs, products and services that restore the planet and all that inhabit it.
A unique eco-friendly shopping experience offering everything from organic and fair trade clothing, coffee and chocolates to handcrafted jewelry made from re-purposed items.
Organizations educating visitors about native plant and animal conservation.
People sharing similar connections; learning how to invest in thier community and green thier own home and garden.
Live music, kids' activities and delicious food.
From the simplest green steps to the latest in renewable energy and green technology, there's something for everyone to learn and do.
