Bending the Mirror & home

Columbus College of Art & Design presents two new exhibitions in the Canzani Center Gallery: Bending the Mirror, which samples the fecund diversity of international figurative art today; and home., which examines what we might call "normal" suburbia through the work of painter Jessica Rohrer and photographers Bill Owens and Mark Slankard.

This exhibition samples a portion of the complex information found in new figurative art. These works, while connected in subject, display a timely spectrum of ideas, perspectives, issues of identity, and sociopolitical agendas. Christian Faur and Mark Bush, two artists from central Ohio, will be part of the diverse international roster.
home. - A Meditation On Suburbia
home. combines the perspectives of three artists who have distinctive takes on the American suburb and the lives of those within: emerging NYC painter Jessica Rohrer, iconic 1970's photographer Bill Owens, and Cleveland-based artist Mark Slankard.
