Between the Lines

Presented by Rivet

"Between the Lines" features Jeremy Sorrell and Michael Newton, two up-and-coming Columbus artists and CCAD alumni. This is a can't miss opportunity to meet both creators during the opening reception from 7-10 PM on Saturday, February 4th. Prints and original artwork will be available as well as Rivet's signature toy collectibles, apparel, and notable inventory of pop-surreal artwork. Mark your calendars and come by for some complimentary consumables and authentic local culture!

Michael Newton is a visual artist living in Columbus, Ohio. A graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design, he spends most of his free time riding a skateboard, playing D&D or going to movies. The majority of his artwork is quite linear and focused on heavily contrasted portraits of ladies from every background. These pieces boast curvy buxom figures, long locks, and seductive poses with a certain stylization indicative of Newton's work. His mediums of choice tends to be pen & ink and acrylic on illustration board or wood.

Jeremy Sorrell is an artist and designer living in Columbus, Ohio. He received his BFA in Industrial Design from the Columbus College of Art & Design in 2004. Working professionally as a contract concept artist and designer, his clients include Marvel Entertainment, LLC and Express, Inc. Presently, his artwork focuses on robotic creations and distopian themes with a keen attention to line and mark making. Evident in many of his pieces, there is a heavy pop culture influence that hits home with even the most oblivious of us. Superheroes, robots, and zombies, oh no!
