Mayor Coleman's Neighborhood Pride Block Party

Mayor Michael B. Coleman welcomes all families and children throughout the city and Franklin County to the Neighborhood Pride Block Party this summer, Saturday August 18th, 2012 at the Columbus Commons. The family event will run from 10am - 3pm. The event is free. This special one day festival that will host interactive activities that are educational and fun and focused on safety, parenting and wellness.

Learn how to be safe at home and in the neighborhood from Columbus Divisions of Police and Fire. Kids can learn how to ride safe and smart at the Neighborhood Pride Bicycle Safety Course.

Franklin County Children Services' annual event, FamJam, a Family Enrichment Festival will be a part of the programming at the event. Children Services staff will provide parenting tips, and information about adoption, foster care and volunteer opportunities.

Health and Wellness information tables and activities will take place throughout the day. Columbus Public Health's Active Living program will host "Just Walk", a walk with the Doc program with Dr. David Sabgir. The walk will occur in the morning. And, in the afternoon, bring your jump rope and take part in an organized 200 jumps to celebrate the bicentennial.
