Jazz Academy

The Jazz Academy is a place where people of all ages can learn, play, listen, watch, record, write, improvise, experiment, compose, sing and fundamentally experience American music.

The JAG Jazz Academy fosters an inclusive community for musicians and non-musicians alike - for young and old, for instrumentalists and vocalists, for teachers and students, for aficionados and those with mere curiosity. The Jazz Academy is a place open to all skill levels, and where the only prerequisite is your passion for creativity through music.

The Jazz Academy offers:
>classes, lectures and workshops for all ages and abilities
>outstanding faculty, guest speakers and visiting artists
>ensemble playing opportunities and performances
>after school workshops and summer camp opportunities

In 2009, The Jazz Academy will make its home in the Lincoln Theater on East Long Street and in the heart of the King Lincoln District. The Jazz Academy at the Lincoln will feature 5,000 square feet of instruction space, including three classroom/rehearsal rooms, a recording lab and keyboard studio.
