OSU Historic Costume & Textiles Collection
The Historic Costume & Textiles Collection is a museum and academic resource of apparel and textile material culture. Its 12,000 items date from the mid-18th century to the present and include a range of textiles and articles of clothing and accessories for men, women, and children. The strength of the Collection is 20th century designer clothing, but examples of 19th century clothing and national dress costume are also well-represented. Two to three exhibitions a year take place in the Gladys Keller Snowden Gallery in Campbell Hall. Educational programs and symposia related to exhibitions and textile/clothing material culture accompany select exhibitions. Curator-led tours of exhibitions are available for groups by appointment. Research appointments are available for designers and scholars.
