Artists, Interrupted: A Woman's Art Collective
ABOUT US: As women who balance many areas in their lives, this organization is intended to support and provide short-term professional experiences that will offer performance opportunities, education, resources, and a supportive network for emerging women artists to learn from local participants in their communities and continue to develop their artistic interests and talents. An “artist, interrupted” is a woman who has placed her art on hold from five minutes to fifty years, in order to support family needs, career changes, relocation, or just life in general...because sometimes, life just happens.
WHAT WE DO
Annual conferences for women artists: A place to network with other woman artists, seek solutions to our most common challenges, and to learn new strategies of creative art making in our homes and communities.
Art-Tending Groups: Need some time to work on your art? We can help you find a woman artist in your area who is interested in babysitting exchanges. Art-Tending also includes one-on-one feedback and discussion to help women artists continue to develop their work.
Monthly Art Discussions (M.A.D. Meetings): Everyone needs to build some confidence. These meetings are to get support and feedback on your projects and your place in life.
Performances and Galleries: Let’s get our voices out! We strive to share and present our work locally.
Collaborative Projects: Expand your mind. Connect with women artists who are interested in collaborative artistic work.
Funding: We provide ideas for you to find your own opportunities and teach you how to maximize your own resources.
